SME Bureau CBI and LinkUMKM Host Webinar on Building Business Profiles and Credit Reputation for MSMEs

Jakarta, 13 November 2025 – SME Bureau – Credit Bureau Indonesia (CBI) collaborated with LinkUMKM, a business empowerment platform, to host a webinar titled “Build Your Business Profile and Credit Reputation Before Applying for Financing!” The online session aimed to improve financial literacy among MSME entrepreneurs and emphasize the importance of developing a solid business profile and credit reputation as the foundation for financing applications.

The webinar featured Ayu Putri Maharesmi, Partnership Manager of SME Bureau – CBI, as the main speaker and was facilitated by the BRI Research Institute.

In her presentation, Ayu highlighted that the biggest challenge for MSMEs is not business unworthiness, but the lack of documented evidence that reflects business credibility.

“Financing is often rejected not because the business is unworthy, but because there is no supporting evidence to demonstrate its credibility,” Ayu explained.

She added that a business profile and credit reputation serve as the CV of a business, forming the basis of assessment for financial institutions. Without proper documentation of transactions, legal status, and payment history, the financing evaluation process becomes significantly hindered.

The Q&A session revealed common issues faced by MSME owners. One participant from LinkUMKM, Hikmah, shared the challenges she encountered despite operating her business for three years.

“My business has been running for three years, but the main issue we MSMEs face is the lack of a credit profile, which prevents us from applying for financing from financial institutions,” Hikmah said.

Addressing this, Ayu explained that SME Bureau offers solutions for MSMEs that do not yet have formal financial records.

“SME Bureau can support MSMEs that lack a credit profile through the SME Report, which helps build their Business Profile,” she explained.
“Because a good business deserves trust,” Ayu added.

The webinar received positive feedback from participants. One attendee, Salman Alfarisi, shared his appreciation, stating that the session provided new insights on how to systematically build a strong business profile.

“This webinar gave me valuable knowledge on how to develop a business profile,” Salman said.

Through this initiative, SME Bureau – CBI and LinkUMKM aim to help MSMEs better understand the importance of business credibility and become more prepared to access formal financing with confidence and structure.
