CBI Partners with the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Launches CBI SME Bureau
Utilizing Credit Information to Support Business Development and Inclusive Financing Access.
Jakarta, June 25, 2025 — The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Credit Bureau Indonesia (CBI) have officially signed a Cooperation Agreement, which also marked the launch of the CBI SME Bureau. This strategic partnership represents a significant step in expanding the use of credible and integrated online credit information services for MSMEs.
The agreement was signed on June 25, 2025, at the SMESCO Building in Jakarta, attended by 250 invited guests representing stakeholders from the Ministry of MSME, various ministries and agencies, CBI leadership, associations, MSME research and development institutions, and MSME business owners.
CBI SME Bureau: The First Credit Information Management Service for MSMEs in Indonesia
The CBI SME Bureau is designed to address a key challenge in MSME financing access — the lack of credible and verified business credit data. This service is specifically developed for MSME business owners and stakeholders engaged with MSMEs.
The CBI SME Bureau offers the following features:
- Comprehensive Credit Information: Provides detailed credit data including business profiles, credit records, and payment history, enabling MSMEs to better understand the financial condition of their business partners and make more informed decisions.
- Real-Time Monitoring and Alerts: Delivers real-time updates on changes in the financial status of MSME partners, allowing MSMEs to respond quickly and maintain credit relationships and financial stability.
- Receivables Management: Helps MSMEs track overdue payments and report partners who fail to meet their financial obligations, aiding in the protection of cash flow and financial health.
Minister of MSMEs: Data Infrastructure to Strengthen the MSME Financing Ecosystem
Minister of MSMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, Maman Abdurrahman, emphasized the importance of strengthening the financing ecosystem infrastructure as a foundation for MSME development.
“Currently, there are over 57 million MSMEs in Indonesia, contributing 61.8% to GDP and employing up to 97% of the national workforce. However, MSME credit still accounts for only 18.7% of total bank credit, reflecting a large financing gap that needs to be bridged,” said Maman Abdurrahman.
“The presence of the CBI SME Bureau as a platform for verifying the credibility of business partners will strengthen the financing ecosystem, especially in the B2B sector. This collaboration is a strategic step to promote business growth and access to safer, more inclusive, and integrated financing for MSMEs,” he added.
Deputy for Small Enterprises: Building MSME Credit Profiles
Temmy Satya Permana, Deputy for Small Enterprises at the Ministry of MSMEs, added that the collaboration would enhance analysis and policymaking in MSME financing.
“The partnership with CBI expands financing options for MSMEs beyond conventional schemes to include alternative financing based on business partnerships. The CBI SME Bureau will be a key tool for financial risk mitigation and building MSME credit profiles — essential for gaining access to formal financing,” said Temmy.
CEO of CBI: SME Bureau Supports Financial Inclusion
Anton K. Adiwibowo, President Director of PT Kredit Biro Indonesia Jaya (CBI), affirmed CBI’s commitment through the CBI SME Bureau to advancing credit literacy, data-driven financial inclusion, and risk management for MSME entrepreneurs.
“This agreement also marks the official launch of the CBI SME Bureau. Through this service, credit risk assessment and management for MSME partners becomes faster, more efficient, and more accurate. We hope the CBI SME Bureau will be a catalyst for MSMEs to scale up and gain healthier, more inclusive, and sustainable financing,” said Anton.
